How Does Yotta Work?
If you've done some research on Yotta already, you'll know that a lot of new terms get thrown around when it comes to saving money with Yotta, it can be a lot to take in, but here's a few common things that are often mentioned:
- Weekly Contest
- Lucky Swipes
Let's dive deeper into what these terms mean, and how it helps you to save money while earning an average 4% interest and winning free purchases.
Tickets are the bread and butter of earning interest through prizes with Yotta.
All you have to do to earn Tickets, is to save! You get 1 Ticket, every week, for every $25 sitting in your Yotta account.
For example: if Jane has $100 in her account, she'll earn 4 Tickets this week, and next week, and the week after that. As long as you're saving, you're earning Tickets.
There are 7 numbers on each Ticket that you can choose yourself, or let us automatically randomly pick for you! Each Ticket is a chance to earn prizes through our Weekly Contests. Tickets expire after every week.
Starting every Monday of each week, a new Weekly Contest begins.
Each day at 9pm Eastern Time a number is drawn. By the time Sunday 9pm rolls around, all 7 numbers will have been drawn. At this point, depending on how many numbers match on each of your Tickets, you can earn prizes!
Here's what you can win!
The Yottaball is just the name for the last number drawn each week.
So every Sunday at 9pm, the number drawn is always going to be the Yottaball!
The great thing about the Yottaball, is that if you match it, you'll always earn a prize!
Buckets are another staple Yotta feature that helps you save!
When you first create an account, you'll have 1 "Core Account" Bucket. This is your main Bucket that is associated with your account number in your settings.
But, if you want to organize your funds into specific goals or allowance, you can create new Buckets that act as sub-accounts.
For example: Jane has $100 in her Core Account which earns 4 tickets.
She wants to create a "Cellphone Bill" Bucket with a target of $15 so she know not to touch that money.
She also creates a "New Camry Down Payment" Bucket with a target of $8,000 and add's $50 to get her started.
When Jane is done she now has 3 total Buckets:
- $35 in Core Account
- $15 in Cellphone Bill
- $50 in New Camry Down Payment
Her total account balance is still $100, so Jane still earns 4 Tickets per week, every week! And now she's more organized with her money!
When you open an account with Yotta, you'll also get a complimentary Yotta Debit card that pulls from your Buckets. And unlike other debit cards, the Yotta Debit has built in rewards!
- Every time you use your Debit card, you have a 1 in 100 chance to Lucky Swipe your entire purchase for free!
- You earn 10% back in Tickets for next week's Weekly Contest
- You never lose Tickets when you spend with Debit
For example: Jane decided to purchase a new pet otter for $25 from a local breeder.
She used her Yotta Debit card and immediately go notified on her phone that she Lucky Swiped her new otter for free!
Jane also gets 10% back in Tickets, which means she now has 2.5 more Tickets for the next Weekly Contest.
Jane's total account balance is now $75. Normally this only gives Jane 3 Tickets, but since she used her Debit card, she gets to keep all 4 Tickets for current Weekly Contest.
